I am interested in morphophonology and secondarily, morphosyntax.Â
My research engages with topics such as the learnability of morpho-phonological patterns (e.g., mutation, subtractive morphology), case (ergativity and case syncretism), suppletion and allomorphy (*ABA generalizations). I have primarily explored these issues through the lens of Tibetan, on which I have conducted fieldwork since 2020.
Along with Cathryn Donohue and M. Y. Priscilla Lam (Leiden University), I was involved in the documentation of two endangered languages: the Tibeto-Burman language Nubri and the Yue Chinese language Shuilowa (Tanka). At NYU, I have worked with Tibetan speakers based in Queens, New York.
